Nigel qualified from Glasgow Veterinary School in 1986, and finished his Master's Degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Edinburgh Centre for Tropical Veterinary Medicine in 1992. Nigel worked from home & abroad with many a whole variety of animals until joining Tower Veterinary Group in 1998, and was one of the Director's of the company between 2001 & 2017, before becoming our Clinical Director.
Large animal veterinary work has always had a special place in Nigel's heart: he is solely responsible for our farm work caseload here at Tower Veterinary Group, but also helps with our small animal clients.
Whenever an exotic pet registers with ourselves, Nigel is our first port of call, as he loves being able to meet and treat all kinds of species of animals. He is mainly based at our Haxby practice, but you can sometimes find him at our Fulford practice on a Tuesday and Friday afternoon.
John Fagan B Vet Med MRCVS
John was born and raised in Leeds. He qualified from The Royal Veterinary College in 1980, with a Distinction in Surgery. After graduating, he spent two years working in a mixed practice in Ulveston, in the Lake District. He then moved to York where he has been ever since.
He has attended numerous BSAVA Congresses' throughout the years, in the early 1990's he attended a Specialist Orthopaedic course over a period of 2 years to increase his knowledge and skills within the Veterinary environment. In the early 2000's he attended a Specialist Surgery course, again over a 2 year period to further his already wide knowledge base. He is also a member of the BSAVA and The British Veterinary Orthopaedic Association.
From 1986 through to 2017, he was a Partner and then Director of Tower Veterinary Group, John is now one of our Senior Vet's and mostly works from our Acomb Practice, helping with our small animals alongside one of our other Senior Vets, Nic Howard.
When John isn't busy helping the pet's of York, you will find him out walking in the countryside with his dog, Merlin or relaxing at home with his two cats, Alice & Mr Tumnus.
Alicia has been with us here at Tower Veterinary Group since November 2017 & in October 2018 took up the role of Senior Vet.
She enjoys all aspects of the role, but has a particular interest in complicated medical cases and dentistry, due to this you will find her at our Fulford Road practice. She has worked within the veterinary industry for many years, even before studying to become a vet at university, so she has a great understanding of the different roles that make a practice work, such as the Reception and Nursing teams.
She takes great pride in incorporating all of her experience into her role as one of our Senior Vets.
Alicia has two dogs, a lovely fox red Labrador called Amber, and was recently joined by a cheeky black Labrador named Oscar. Both dogs accompany her to work most days, so you might get the chance to meet them at our Fulford reception.
In her spare time Alicia enjoys swimming, spinning, yoga and spending time with her husband, dogs, family and friends.
Lara Glitz BVSc MRCVS
Lara studied Veterinary Medicine in Germany and South Africa, and graduated from The University of Pretoria in 2013. After working in a mixed practice in South Africa, she joined us here at Tower Veterinary Group as part of our Veterinary Team in 2017.
She has a great passion for eyes and is currently studying for her Post-Graduate Certificate in Small Animal Ophthalmology. She is a committee member of the BSAVA North East region, and also belongs to The British Association of Small Animal Ophthalmologists and the European Society of Veterinary Ophthalmology. In 2018, Lara obtained a qualification as an Official Veterinarian (OV), this means that she can assist with Pet Passports.
Lara works at all of our practices, but likes to see her eye cases at our Haxby practice wherever possible, as she has a specialist setup there for these consultations.
In her free time she enjoys Martial Arts and travelling all over the world.
Amy graduated from London's Veterinary College in 2004, and worked at Holmefield Veterinary Clinic for two years afterwards as a Graduate Vet. She first joined Tower Veterinary Group in 2006, before taking a hiatus in 2011 to return to her studies.
In 2013, she completed her Masters Degree from The University of Edinburgh in One Health, a subject area which focuses on the connection between animal, environmental and human health, including diseases which are transferable between animals and people. In 2018, she finished her PhD on E.Coli in cows, also from The University of Edinburgh, before returning to us at Tower Veterinary Group in January 2019.
During Amy's first stint with ourselves, she was based at our Acomb, Fulford and Southbank practices, and built a loyal client base at each branch. Since rejoining the team, Amy has been working across all of our practices, but is mainly based at Fulford. She cites looking after all of the lovely clients and their pets that she gets to meet at each of our practice's as her favourite part of the job.
Outside of work, Amy is mum to a cheeky, bouncy cross breed named Lola, whom she occasionally brings to work with her.
Willie Anderson BVMS MRCVS
Willie is one of the founding members of Tower Veterinary Group, and our longest serving team member.
He was a partner of the company from 1965 through to 2000, he then retired from Tower Veterinary Group in 2001. Since then Willie has worked part-time at our Haxby practice on a Wednesday and Saturday morning.
Nina studied Veterinary Medicine in Hanover, and has worked in small animal practices throughout England since qualifying in 2016. In April of 2018 she joined us here at Tower Veterinary Group as part of our vet team, and is currently working towards a certificate in surgery.
Nina tends to split her time between all of our practices, but particularly enjoys performing surgical procedures at our Fulford practice. Nina has a strong interest in all aspects of surgery, along with emergency and critical care. She is an extremely capable surgeon, with a particular aptitude in neutering procedures.
When she's not working, Nina enjoys cycling and walking in the North Yorkshire Moors, as well as taking care of Hetty, her lovely pet cat.
Liz Harland BVMS MRCVS
Liz graduated from The University of Edinburgh in 1982, and completed her PhD at The Royal Veterinary College in London between 1984 and 1987.
Since 1993, Liz has helped at our Fulford practice, as part of an arrangement with our Directors, as well as working as a locum for veterinary practices throughout the Yorkshire area.
Liz originally consulted from our Acomb, Haxby and Fulford practices, and although she had reduced her hours with us since then, she still come in to consults at our Fulford practice every Thursday morning.
When Liz isn't at work, she enjoys being out and about with her two lovable Spaniels, Marmite who adores a belly rub and a young, energetic puppy.
Sara completed her Integrated Master's Degree from The University of Porto, Portugal, in 2018. She started her first position as a qualified Veterinary Surgeon with ourselves in October 2018 and is mentored by our Senior Veterinary Surgeon, Alicia.
She is based at our Fulford practice at the moment, but going forward she will be starting to consult from all of our practices in the summer of 2019.
Sara's main clinical interests are feline medicine, internal medicine, imaging and dentistry. Good communication is also extremely important to her; she values being able to clearly explain to our clients what is happening with their beloved pets, to enable them to make informed decisions and their pets treatment, and to be involved in the care of their pets as much as possible.
As a huge cat lover, the best part of Sara's job in meeting all of our clients feline friends - though she loves meeting all of the pets that come through our doors! She is also grateful to work alongside a wonderful and supportive team.
Sara has two cats of her own back at home in Portugal, a chunky tabby called Molly, and a skinny cat called Lina.
Linda McNulty RVN BVNA
Linda trained at Rodbaston Agricultural College in Stafford and qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 1998, she then joined the Tower Veterinary Group family as our Head Nurse in August 2015.
Her favourite parts of nursing are carrying out anaesthetics, dental's and running our nursing consultations. In November 2018 Linda started running our Fear Free and Weight Management consultations at our Fulford practice, she takes a great deal of pride and care within doing these consultations and loves to see the results of all her hard work pay off.
Linda also loves being able to provide crucial care and attention to pets as they move into their senior years, and is thoroughly enjoying building deeper connections with clients through these consultations. Another important aspect of Linda's role, and one which is very close to her heart, is end of life care, this is something that she strives to give owners and pets full supportive and emotional support at such a difficult time.
Linda doesn't have any pets at the moment, but is frequently visited by a family of Magpies, whom she has trained to fly into her garden for treats when she whistles! In her spare time she loves being in the outdoors and going on walks.
Jenny Cheeseman RVN
Jenny began training as a Nurse at Myerscough College, University of Central Lancashire in 2013. She qualified and joined the Tower Veterinary Group team in June 2006. Jenny started working full-time at our Fulford practice, but since having a family she now works part-time from both Fulford and Haxby.
Her favourite part of her role is being a part of the surgical team, she finds it extremely rewarding to be able to assist our patients from their admittance, to during their procedure and then through to recovery.
Jenny currently doesn't have any pets, but she, her husband and her two children hope to welcome a dog into their family in the near future.
Lisa Barnard RVN
After qualifying from Abbey House Veterinary Hospital in the spring of 2018, Lisa began her first position as a Qualified Veterinary Nurse at Tower Veterinary Group in April of the same year. She is based at our Fulford practice and her special interests at work are diagnostic imaging, orthopaedics and her huge passion for rabbit care.
Lisa loves to be kept busy, so enjoys helping out in every aspect of the practice with anything that needs doing, whether that be her daily duties as a Nurse; cleaning; helping our Reception team; or assisting our Vet's during their consultations. She is also a clinical coach to one of our Student Nurses, Rebecca.
Lisa is very much a bunny lover, what she doesn't know about rabbits isn't worth knowing. She is the proud owner of 7 rabbits, they are a mixture of Lops and Dwarfs, their names are Dora, Cookie, Bournville, Whisper, Sundance and Lily. She also has a lovely dog called Rolo. In here spare time she enjoys helping out on the farm where she lives with her boyfriend Dan, expanding her ever-growing knowledge on rabbits, Zumba, walking, reading and going on cruises.
Megan Dunn RVN
Meg has been an asset to our Nursing Team since joining us as a Student Nurse in July 2009. She completed her first year of studies at Askham Bryan College, and finished her second year at The College of Animal Welfare in Leeds, graduating in April of 2013.
Meg spends most of her time at our Fulford practice, but also covers our Acomb practice on a Thursday. Her favourite elements of Nursing are inpatients care, geriatric patients and patient anaesthesia. She also has a great knowledge of diabetic patients as she owned a diabetic cat for many years.
Out of work Meg enjoys spending time with friends, family & her boyfriend, going on holiday abroad, football, and going to the races.
Becky Glenwright RVN
Becky trained as a Nurse at Askham Bryan College, and started her Nursing career in September 2000. She began working for Tower Veterinary Group when we took over Abbeyfields Vets. Becky is mostly based at our Haxby practice, but also covers our Acomb and Fulford practices.
Along with her responsibilities as a Nurse, Becky has also worked as a Clinical Coach. Her special interests at work include dentistry and large animals. She is hoping to start doing her own Nurse Consultations at our Haxby practice in the near future.
Her favourite part of her job as a nurse is getting to know the pets and their owners, it means a lot to her to be able to be there for them throughout their various life stages. She loves being able to see them grow from cheeky pups into wonderful golden oldies. She also thinks it's nice for our clients and pets to be greeted by a familiar face when they come to visit our Haxby practice.
Becky's interests outside of work included going rambling with her lovely Bedlington-Whippet cross, Ernie, camping, reading, going to the cinema and spending time with family and friends.
Student Veterinary Nurse
Rebecca started working at Tower Veterinary Group as part of our Reception Team in the summer of 2016. In August of 2018 she took on the exciting challenge of becoming a Veterinary Nurse, she is currently studying at Askham Bryan College. Nursing is the perfect step for Rebecca and something that she has always wanted to do, she has such a passion for animal care and can't wait to expand upon her knowledge of Veterinary care.
Rebecca has worked at all of our practices throughout York, but for her studies she will be based at our Fulford practice. She really enjoys working within a supportive, hard working team, especially within such a busy, fast paced environment. She is interested in developing her skills and knowledge in all areas of Veterinary Nursing, and although she adores all animals, cat's will always have an extra special place in her heart.
At home, Rebecca has four pets, Freddie the very lovable Golden Retriever, Gandalf the Lionhead Rabbit, Stanlee the Leopard Gecko and Seymour Butts the very handsome cat.
Student Veterinary Nurse
Kate originally came to Tower Veterinary Group as a locum Veterinary Care Assistant in August 2018, but we liked her so much that she was offered a permanent position here two months later. Kate has a BSc Honours Degree in Animal Management and Science, and has worked with animals in a variety of roles before joining our team, including working as a Cat Career, a Nursing Assistant, and even as a Zookeeper, where she took care of a Tapir, Capybara, and a red Kangaroo!
She currently works at our Fulford practice, and is planning to start her Nursing qualification in September 2019.
Despite being interested in all aspects of Veterinary Care, Kate is especially keen to learn more about inpatient care and feline health, and she completed a course in January 2019 to become a Cat Friendly Veterinary Professional. Minimising stress for our patients when they visit us is Kate's number one priority at work, and her favourite part of the job is being able to comfort patients, even if this simply involves being able to give them a cuddle to show them that someone is there for them. For Kate, it is incredibly satisfying to be able to go home at the end of the day knowing that she's made one patient's life that little bit better; it's why she loves doing what she does.
At home, Kate looks after a beautiful cat, called Aurora, whom along with her brothers, she hand-reared from when they were only three days old. She is completely smitten with her, as well as her gentle Collie, Jack Russell and Dalmatian cross breed, Millie, and her snake called Mischief.
Veterinary Care Assistant
Jamie started working for Tower Veterinary Group in March 2014 as a Veterinary Care Assistant. During her time with ourselves she has completed certificates in Animal Care and has achieved a Level 3 Diploma in Canine Studies, a qualification that encompasses all things from canine genetics, to behaviours, to healthcare. She would also like to being a canine massage therapy course in the near future.
Jamie is based at our Fulford practice and helps to look after all of our inpatients. Her special interests at work are inpatient care, and her favourite part of working for Tower Veterinary Group is caring for our clients pets whilst they are recovering from procedures.
Outside of work Jamie spends time with her family and friends, Bikejoring and Caricross with her dogs. At home Jamie has a fair few pets to look after, these include her three dogs, Blaze the Alaskan Malamute, Ember the Husky and Dash the Labrador. There is also her Ragdoll cat, Hornblower and Zoomer the Guinea Pig.
Veterinary Care Assistant
Sarah qualified as a Nursing Assistant in 2008 from The College of Animal Welfare in Leeds, she has been part of the Tower Veterinary Group family since November 2005. Her working week is split between our Acomb and Fulford practices, where she helps with the Reception team in addition to her care duties.
Along with helping our clients and patients at our practices, Sarah is also responsible for arranging work experience placements for students who are hoping to work in the Veterinary industry in the future.
Sarah has a special interest in rabbit nutrition, and particularly enjoys the combination of helping and interacting with pets and their owners. Her favourite part of working here is when our clients are pleased with the service that they have received with their pets.
Outside of work, Sarah likes going for walks with her beautiful Jack Russell, Bramble, gardening and planning trips to The Lake District. She also enjoys watching films, her favourite is Shirley Valentine!
Jane joined Tower Veterinary Group in October 2011 as the Reception Manager at our Fulford practice, a role she has worked very hard at for just over 7 years, before being offered the new position of our Dispensary Manager in January 2019.
With Jane's love of animals, both big and small, it made perfect sense for her to work in the Veterinary industry. Getting to cuddle all of the new puppies that come through our doors is certainly the highlight of Jane's working week. She also loves being able to organise the medications for our clients pet's, and enjoys the challenge of stock control.
Jane currently has three dogs, some of whom you may find on our Reception at our Fulford practice from time to time. There is Sid the Border Terrier, Rita the Patterdale Terrier and Suzy the Bulldog. She loves being able to take them all out on really long walks with her husband, especially if there is a nice country pub en route.
Reception Team Leader
Tracy joined the Tower Veterinary Group family in April 2018 as an evening Receptionist at our Fulford practice, she was then promoted to our Reception Team Leader in February 2019. She loves working within the Veterinary industry and brings with her over 15 years of customer service and management experience.
Tracy has a great passion for animals and animal welfare, and has owned a variety of dogs breeds throughout the years, including Chinese Shar-Pei's, her favourite breed for over 20 years.
Tracy and her husband currently have a rescued Shar-Pei called Millie, who is around 10 years old and has been a part of their family since 2013. They also share their home with the rather beautiful Benson, a 7 year old Bullmastiff who has been a part of the family since he was 8 weeks old.
Tracy's main interests are attending dog shows to support her friends, (Tracy also used to own a Shar-Pei at Open and Championship level, and qualified and competed at Crufts 3 years running) dog walking, swimming, volunteering as a home checker for prospective adopters on behalf of a number of animal rescue charities, watching Motorsport (especially motorbikes), watching the rugby, reading and knitting.
Nurse / Receptionist
After finishing school, Mandy completed a BTEC National Diploma in Health Studies, whilst working in customer service alongside her studies. She then worked as a Student Nurse at York Teaching Hospital, where she was sent on various placements to different hospitals in the Yorkshire region. She also worked in different departments within York Hospital, such as Midwifery, Physiotherapy and accompanying Community Nurses on home visits, as well as to GP surgeries and schools.
In 1996 Mandy began working as Veterinary Nurse Assistant and Receptionist our Abbeyfields Veterinary Centre on Clarence Street, this was then taken over by Tower Veterinary Group in the mid 2000's. Since the closing of our Clarence Street practice in 2017, Mandy has been based at our Acomb practice.
Mandy's interest in the industry include Complementary Therapy, Dog Grooming, and helping owners through the difficult stages of Pet Bereavement. She is grateful to have been able to perform many Nursing duties over the years, including Monitoring Anaesthetics, running Nurse Clinics, and carrying out lab work. she also thoroughly enjoys being able to bring her skills and vast knowledge to be able to help our clients on the Reception. She has found it fascinating to witness Veterinary Medicine develop and change over the years, with the introduction of new medicines, more sophisticated technology, and an improved selection of treatment options.
Outside of work, Mandy enjoys dog walking with her lovely little Yorkshire Terrier, Daisy, cat sitting for friends, fundraising for Crohn's and Colitis whenever she can, and catching up with friends over coffee and lots of cake!
Beverley started working at the Southbank practice in 1995, this was before the days of Tower Veterinary Group and it was part of Abbeyfields Veterinary Centre. Along with her Receptionist duties, in 2015 Bev took on the challenge of helping to process some of the standard insurance claims that we get through from our clients, along with helping to design the seasonal window displays for our Southbank practice.
Bev loves her job, as it offers her the opportunity to constantly learn new things. Her favourite part of being a Veterinary Receptionist is looking after all of the clients and pets that come through the doors at our practices. The well being of our clients and their pets has always been her number one priority.
Her interests outside of work are her two dogs, Bruno and Harley, they are both Shih Tzu cross Jack Russell and are very cute, spending time with her family, decorating cakes, sewing, and painting and decorating.
Gill has worked at the Southbank practice since September 1994, when it was owned by Abbeyfields Veterinary Centre. She then became part of the Tower Veterinary Group in 2009 and has been working as one of our Receptionists ever since then.
Over the years, Gill has seen a lot of changes and developments within Veterinary Care. She feels grateful to have been able to get to know so many of our lovely clients and their adorable pets.
Gill, along with Bev, also helps to process the standard insurance claims and with the designing of the seasonal window displays.
Outside of work, Gill enjoys being out in the countryside, caravanning, and is actively involved with a local church.
Christine began working for Tower Veterinary Group in May 2001, she was originally based at our Fulford practice, in 2009 Christine moved over to our Acomb practice, where she has been helping to keep the Reception running smoothly every since.
Christine's favourite part of the job is welcoming our clients and their pets into the practice, and assisting them with anything they need. She is also the proud mum of a Beagle called Poppy, who looks like an angel, but is extremely mischievous.
Mel has been a Veterinary Receptionist since 2007, when she began working for Abbeyfields Veterinary Centre at what is now our Haxby practice. She has continued to work there ever since Tower Veterinary Group took over, and has seen a lot of changes in our practice as the years have passed.
Getting to know our clients and their pets is Mel's favourite part of working as a Receptionist, and she enjoys working within a friendly, efficient team.
Outside of work, Mel likes to go camping, walking, boating, eating and drinking out, and getting together with family at friends. She is also the proud owner of Clive, the lovely black cat.
Two years after joining the Tower Veterinary Group family in 2014 as part of our Reception team, Anne took on the role of Claims Handler for the direct insurance cases. She has over 32 years of experience in the Insurance sector, having previously worked form many years as a Claims Manager for Aviva, and has an ACII qualification, along with a Diploma in insurance.
Her favourite parts of the job are being able to work efficiently to process the direct claims for clients, along with her constant and frequent interaction with clients, to keep them informed on the progress of their claims. Anne is also hoping to increase her knowledge and understanding or grief, and would like to work towards an accreditation for supporting owners with the bereavement of their pets.
Anne has two beautiful cats, Mika the Ragdoll and Oscar the handsome ginger gentleman. Her main interests outside of work mostly involve supporting charities. She is currently the Secretary for Dunnington Cancer Support Group and is also heavily involved with the auctions for them. She has also volunteered for various other organisations such as, St. Leonard's Hospice and Cruse Bereavement, whom she worked with for more than a decade.
Jackie started her role as a Receptionist in June 1975, when we were know as Tulloch, Slee & Anderson. When Jackie first joined Tower Veterinary Group, she worked at our Fulford practice, which used to be in the house next door to our current practice. From 2001 on wards, Jackie has been based at our Heworth practice, where she works on our Reception.
After being a loving dog owner for more than forty years, Jackie sadly no longer has any pets, but is pleased that she can get her dog cuddle fix working at the practice. Her most recent dog was actually adopted through Tower Veterinary Group; she was a Lurcher who was found tied to a tree with a leather belt around her neck, thankfully Jackie took her in. She named her Josephine, and she was a cherished part of Jackie's family for fourteen years.
Outside of work Jackie loves travelling, especially to Greece, socialising with friends (only face to face though, as Jackie doesn't do social media!), Guinness and red wine, crosswords and logic puzzles.
Jean was a beloved member of the Receptionist team between 2007 and 2016. After being away from the practice for two years, she decided she missed us all too much, and returned to her Receptionist role at our Haxby practice in August 2018.
Her favourite thing about our Haxby practice is our lovely, spacious waiting room, where she can catch up with all of our clients and their pets. She loves being able to have a cuddle with the pets, whilst talking to their owners.
Jean has three lovely pets at home, a black Labrador called Favour, Alfie the black and white cat, and Harry the Appaloosa horse. She enjoys taking care of them and her family when she isn't busy working away at our Haxby practice.
Charli joined Tower Veterinary Group in March 2018 to support our Reception Team, shes is mainly based at our Fulford practice, but also supports the other Receptionists at our Acomb, Heworth and Haxby practices. Charli has worked in customer facing roles since she was 16, and enjoys the interacting that comes with this type of role. Her favourite part of working within the Veterinary industry is being able to meet (and cuddle) all the different pets on a daily basis.
Charli has a particular interest in writing our internal monthly newsletter, and enjoys organising referrals and dealing with the large amount of paperwork that we have to get through on a day to day basis.
Outside of work she spend most of her time at the swimming pool, and walking her little Jack Russell, Pippa.
Ruth started as a member of our Reception team in February 2017. She has over 15 years of experience working as a Receptionist role, having previously worked in a variety of workplaces, including the NHS, and estate agent, and a school, where she was the Reception Manager for two years. She has also previously worked as an Animal Assistant and Receptionist at The Canine Hydrotherapy Pool in Poppleton.
Working as a Receptionist within the Veterinary industry has always been Ruth'd dream job, and she cites being able to help client and their pets, working around animals, and working within a great team as some of her favourite aspects of working for Tower Veterinary Group.
No matter which of our practice you usually visit, you will have probably met Ruth, as she helps out on Reception across all of our practices. You are also likely to have met Dougie, her excitable Spaniel cross Labrador, who comes with her everywhere she goes. At home, Ruth is also a proud mum to Rambo, a very cute Tabby cat.
Sally has over thirty years of experience in Administrative roles, and has been a Receptionist with Tower Veterinary Group since 2015. In June of 2018, she took on the additional responsibility of processing insurance claims alongside Bev and Gill at our Southbank practice.
Sally finds it really rewarding to be able to help our client's through all stages of their pet's lives, and loves working alongside a great team. Sally studied at The University of Life, and is grateful for the opportunities to continually study and develop her skills working here.
Outside of work, Sally enjoys gardening, dog training, and walking with her three dogs, Charlie and Harvey the two Fox red Labrador's and Arthur the Hungarian Vizsla.
Jessica was thrilled to start working at Tower Veterinary Group in September 2018, as working within the Veterinary industry has always been her dream role. Before joining the team, Jessica was a Customer Service Manager, and she brings with her over five years of experience in customer facing roles. Jessica is based at our Fulford practice, where she works as part of our evening Receptionist team.
Although Jessica loves every aspect of the job, interacting with all of our clients and their adorable pets is one of her favourite parts of being a Receptionist, and she loves being able to help them all in any way that she can.
Jessica has two dogs, Jewel the Dalmatian a Tilly the Working Cocker Spaniel, and three horses, Mattie an ex-racer, William a Thoroughbred-Irish Draught Cross, and Marmite the Shetland Pony, who loves going to agricultural shows during the summer. Outside of work, Jessica likes spending time with her partner and the little boy.
Lisa Winter RVN
Lisa qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2005 from a small animal practice in Scarborough, she began her career working in an equine practice in Hull, and achieved multiple qualifications in Business Management, before starting with the Tower Veterinary Group team in December 2017 as our Practice Manager.
She brings with her over twenty years of experience in Veterinary Practice to her role, along with three years experience in Business Consultancy within the Veterinary industry.
In addition to her responsibilities as our Practice Manager, Lisa also runs our Puppy Socialisation classes, which run for 4 weeks at a time, and take place on the first Thursday of each month. She is also a public speaker within the Veterinary profession, inspiring Veterinary teams across the country on business, leadership and client communication.
Lisa has two children, Harry and Maisy; two dogs, Missy the Collie cross Kelpie and Nell the Labrador, Porky Corky the very cute cat; two Guinea Pigs called Dave and Ozzy; 10 chickens and not forgetting her lovely husband, Wez.
After working in high-end, luxury retail for over ten years in Central London, Jess decided to incorporate her love of animals and passion for animal care into her career, and successfully applied for the Administration position here at Tower Veterinary Group in July 2018. Jess' extensive background in luxury Customer Service made for a smooth transition into the Veterinary industry, where she continues to put her passion for excellent customer service into practice with our clients and their pets.
Jess is based at our Fulford practice in the Head Office, however you may sometimes find her helping the Reception team or cuddling one of our client's pet's, especially if there is a Staffy in to see us as they are her favourite breed of dog.
She is responsible for most of our Administration, along with dealing with our accounts, our pet health plan, customer care and our online presence.
Her favourite part of working for Tower Veterinary Group is being able to meet the adorable pet's that come through our doors, and being able to share their photos to our clients via our Facebook and Instagram pages.
Outside of work you will normally find her snuggled up with her cute, but extremely antisocial rescue cat, George. She also enjoys going out with friends, going to gigs.
